London SPRING 2025 guide

January always feels like the longest month in existence, February is filled with thoughts of love (and desperation for warmth), and now we finally find ourselves in March. Seeing bits of sunshine, the first buds on the trees.

Insert “sigh of relief” here.

We’re happy to be back with our seasonal London guides! After a brief pause, we realised just how much we enjoy sharing our favourite activities, hidden gems, and seasonal spots with you. London can be a bit overwhelming at times, with its endless options and bustling energy, so we’ve curated a handpicked selection of the best nature, art, and food experiences to make it a little easier to enjoy the season. Maybe you’re looking for a park to spot the best wisteria, art exhibits that inspire or intriguing hi-fi cocktail bars, this guide is designed to help you find the special spots that capture the essence of spring in the city.

Enjoy.

If you’re even slightly obsessed with flowers (like we are), this exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery is an absolute must. FLOWERS – FLORA IN CONTEMPORARY ART & CULTURE dives into how blooms have inspired artists, writers, and dreamers for centuries—and still do. With over 500 works, from installations and fashion to photography, it’s a full-on floral experience. Expect beauty, symbolism, and creativity in every corner. We’ll definitely be going, and trust me, you’ll want to as well.

On from 12th February - 05 May.

We first came across Calico Coffee thanks to our friends at Simmos, who posted about their opening on Instagram. For a second, I genuinely thought they had flown to Japan for their morning flat white—the aesthetic is that on point. From the warm wooden interiors to the perfectly designed coffee cups (seriously, they just feel good in your hands) and the adorable cat logo, every detail is beautifully considered. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger, slow down, and, of course, enjoy an exceptional coffee.

PS. Make sure you try the Matcha custard tart. I dream about it occasionally.

I recently learned that visitor numbers at Wisley have dropped significantly due to ongoing roadworks—a staggering 25% decline, resulting in a £6 million loss. Those are serious figures.

We’re on a mission to spread the word about this magnificent garden in Surrey. Wisley is home to the iconic 75-meter-long Wisteria Walk, where you can immerse yourself in a scene straight out of a Disney fairytale or a Ghibli film—whichever suits your imagination. If trees are more your thing, don’t miss the collection of Heron’s Bonsai, a stunning display of miniature artistry.

Just an hour from London, Wisley is well worth the trip. Grab a Zipcar and see it for yourself.

I discovered there was a Niwaki store in London and was saddened I only found out about their Chiltern Street boutique recently. It’s everything you’d expect: a beautifully minimalist space with earthy tones, showcasing sophisticated, high-quality tools and products. Just take my money already.

If you’re not familiar with Niwaki, they specialise in top-tier Japanese gardening tools, renowned for their precision and craftsmanship. From secateurs to tripod ladders and aprons, they have everything a gardener, florist or hobbyist could need.

We’ve already popped by and bought our Niwaki tool pouch for our on-site installations.

We’ve been long-time fans of the original Bun House in Chinatown, so we were thrilled to hear they’ve opened a second location in Shoreditch—thankfully, even closer to us! Bun House is a Cantonese small plates and hot bun restaurant that never disappoints. The buns are as fluffy as clouds, the fillings are full of flavor and completely addictive, and the interior has a cool, stripped-back vibe with neon lights. There’s such a lively, joyful energy in the place.

Our go-to dishes include the shumai dim sum, stir-fried cheung fun with vegetables, salt & pepper squid, and of course, the iconic pork buns.

They’ve also teamed up with Hackney Brewery to create two exclusive beers—Drunken Kwun Yum IPA and Big Head Buddha Lager—perfect for pairing with any of their dishes.

If it wasn’t obvious by now—we love thoughtful design and anything with a Japanese influence. Space Talk, a hi-fi listening bar in Farringdon designed by EBBA and Charlotte Taylor, is easily our favourite find in London’s growing lineup of listening bars. It feels like stepping into someone’s home, warm, inviting, and beautifully designed. Vintage seating, adaptive lighting, and an unreal sound system make it a place you want to stay in for hours. And the cocktails? A serious treat. We’re obsessed with the Pepper and Oolong. We have yet to try their sushi, but from a first glance—looks exceptionally tasty.

Sign up for their newsletter to see what’s playing, but honestly, you could walk in any day and have a wonderful time.
